So I just became the little sister and got handed up (down) copious amounts of clothing to which my sister no longer wears any more. Most a clearly new, having been worn only once or twice. When pointing out these various pieces of tops, jackets, singlets and t-shirts, the main replies were usually "Ew, that's so ugly" or "I would never be caught wearing that, I'd be laughed at" or "Heck no, that's not my style". So I think, why did you purchase these in the first place.
Kids these days clearly feel the need to fit into a certain category of fashion sense and style. If not, they are prone to judgement from friends, being laughed at and hence, feeling bad about themselves. I really feel sorry for these kids, and I feel sorry for my sis that she feels such a pressure to fit in and spends/wastes so much money on clothes that she'll only wear once or twice or none, because it's no longer "in" and will stick out and look ugly.
Oh well, score for me.
